Cutaneous meningeal heterotopia (80%). Differential diagnosis includes vascular tumour (20%).
|
Immunohistochemical staining for EMA and vascular markers (CD31, CD34 and Factor VIII) would be performed to confirm the diagnosis. Positive staining for EMA and negative staining for vascular markers would support the diagnosis of cutaneous meningeal heterotopia.

Giant cell fibroblastoma (100%). No DFSP hybrid component noted. Immunohistochemistry for CD34 would be positive. Specific translocation t(17;22) (q22; q13) could be demonstrated by RT-PCR on paraffin section (same as DFSP).
