Qap (Anatomical Pathology)

Case: AP108
Contributor's Comment: All except one make the correct diagnosis of juvenile granulosa cell tumor. One participant simply renders a diagnosis of 'granulosa cell tumor' with no further qualification - and thus usually means adult type. It is important to distinguish between juvenile and adult type gramulosa tumor, because of the different prognosis. The tumor is malignant in about 5%, but malignant behavior manifests early. The latter is malignant in more than one-third of patients, but the malignant behavior often takes a long time to manifest, i.e. tumor is indolent.
