Qap (Anatomical Pathology)

Case: AP169
Contributor's Comment: The official diagnosis of this case is "atypical medullary carcinoma", but a diagnosis of "medullary carcinoma" is also acceptable. The tumor is considered "atypical" because the lymphoid infiltrate is not as intense as the classical cases of medullary carcinoma. Given the young age of the patient and this morphologic feature, it would be prudent to raise the possibility of BRCA1-associated breast cancer.(JKCC)
