Case: AP202
Contributor's Comment: Myxofibrosarcoma comprises a continuous histologic spectrum from hypocellular, myxoid, and purely spindle-cell appearance to high-grade, pleomorphic lesions. Areas of increased cellularity, with small, solid and fascicular areas and multinucleated giant cells can be classified intermediate-grade, in contrast with high grade lesions which contain areas of necrosis and pronounced cellular pleomorphism. There may be continuity between low- and high-grade myxofibrosarcomas, with low-grade myxoid areas in high-grade lesions. This case contained a mixture of low and intermediate-grade only.
